Stepping out of the comfort zone

If your life is predictable, boring and the cat knows your routine, chances are you are complacent with your environment and unwilling to confront the powerful temptation to “play it safe”. Unwilling to think about the hopes and opportunities that lie ahead. Unwilling to free yourself from yourself.  Unwilling to change. Comfort zones provide a sense of ease, coziness, and security. It also provides an escape from the realities of life.  However, continuing to live this way confines your way of thinking and there’s no room for development or growth. It’s time to take a risk – time to set yourself free and tap into your full potential.

“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9

Stepping out of the box can be challenging, especially if you want to put the past behind you and step on the path to where God wants to lead you.  This can be a powerful way to be introduced to new ideas, new friends and new adventures! There are so many rewards and benefits when you step out of the box and start living again. You become alive, vibrant and ready to take back what was lost…yourself! When you break the safety net and step out, you will be able to handle stress and regain confidence in yourself.

You are your biggest challenge.  Sometimes we get intimidated by our own fears and the small voice inside us that says you “can’t”, but when God says loudly “you can” that means you can! This is when you will discover that the person you thought you were is no match for the woman God made you to be.

Now that you are out of the box:

Never give up on your dreams, visions, and goals.  Stay focused.

Declutter your mind! Mind your own business.

Never, ever settle for second best. You deserve more, not less.

Take care of yourself physically, mentally and spiritually.  Nothing pours out of an empty cup.

Balance your life and be consistent. Set priorities and boundaries. Don’t procrastinate.

Release the box mentality –this keeps you restricted to small spaces, small ideas, small thinking.

Choose friends that honor God.  Trust God completely.

Dance! Even when you don’t feel like it.

Do things that challenge and motivate you. Change the status quo.

Stop going in and out of the box – yo-yo drama. This causes confusion, low self-esteem, and no growth.

Embrace new ideas – What are you afraid of? It’s ok to mess up. Mistakes are made for learning.  But don’t keep making the same mistakes over. Pick yourself up, dust yourself off and keep moving.

Remove the security blanket of fear. Don’t allow people to push you back in the box. You can’t think outside of the box if you’re still in it.

Embrace change and understand that you are truly awesome!

Mindsets and attitudes will change when you begin to think from a different perspective. Recognize that “…  in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.”  Romans 8:28 (NIV)

Pursue the heart of God. He will provide daily inspiration.

Recover from a drab life of nothing and be something. Try going back to school to earn a degree.

Change your life for the better. Be real, be cute, be bold. Don’t forget to shop!
