Before and After – God’s Masterpiece

“For we are God’s Masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things He planned for us long ago.” Ephesians 2:10 NLT

There is a home design channel on cable network where professional designers take on the task to provide ideas on how to renovate and improve homes. During the thirty-minute segment, professionals begin to rip the home apart, then start the transformation process. At the end of the segment, they show the cost of the renovations along with the “BEFORE and AFTER” transformation pictures. Unbelievable!

BEFORE Apostle Paul met Christ, he was a blasphemer, persecutor, and a violent man. AFTER an encounter with Christ, God’s grace and mercy was lavished on him so much that he was transformed to a new person. Unbelievable! (I Timothy 1:13-14)

Many of us can attest to some “BEFORE” Christ moments in our life that we are not so proud of. Some of us probably had a long list of “not so good” names that were associated with us before we came into the knowledge of Christ (alcoholic, addict, liar, hater, cheater). Regardless of what they were, we were all sinners. But thank God for Jesus, the Expert Designer, who ripped down the walls of sin and pride, renovated (poured grace and mercy on us), cleaned us up and uniquely transformed us anew. He created us with purpose, talents and gifts! Our BEFORE moments are not important to God as to who we are now in Him!  What’s so unique about our “AFTER” is that the extensive cost of our transformations was paid for a long time ago by Christ himself when he went to the cross for you and me! It’s never too late to offer thanks and praise to our Master Designer! Unbelievable!
