Finding beauty in brokenness

“For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago” Ephesians 2:10 (NLT)

I remember when we were younger, we had a kaleidoscope. My siblings and I would take turns looking through the small cylinder tube to see a beautiful display of broken glass. Shapes and forms would change with every twist and shake of the tube.  Details and designs were even more defining when holding the tube up against the sky. It was a beautiful display of sparkles dancing in the light. We never could understand how tiny bits of broken glass pieces could come together to make something so beautiful.

Our life is just like a kaleidoscope. It’s always changing. Nothing remains the same. Twists and turns of life are challenging, at times. They try to re-shape us, change our purpose and define who we are. The way life used to be, has changed.  So, in order to move forward, and find beauty in all of this, we must let go of the way things used to be and just go with the flow.  This will free us to live our best life with purpose. There is beauty in brokenness. Like the kaleidoscope, we have been shaken, but if we focus on the One who is in control, and keep living with confidence, we will be able to see a beautiful display of our broken pieces coming together. We are God’s handiwork, unique and beautifully designed.

Ways to find beauty in brokenness:

Pray. Reduce stress. Meditate. Relax. Take off the mask of defeat and breathe!

Work through fear. Make a list of your strengths, your blessings, your gifts, things that make you happy…then give thanks!

Regain self-confidence. Stop comparing yourself with others. Take care of your health. Be the best version of yourself. Be you! Be positive. Think on good things. Change the channel and dream big!

Set clear objectives. Your life is not over! Keep living! Visualize yourself where you want to be and what you want in life. Stay on the path, even if it gets rocky.

Celebrate life. Set your hearts free. Be inspired to breathe.
